Saturaday 3pm we were planning to late lunch at Daruma Ramen House at Dai Hang, but found it was closed (idle hours). Under the hot sun, we decided to go anywhere that would take us instantly, and here we go at Panda Curry. There weren't any lunch/ tea sets available so we had to order a la carte at menu price. The inferior decor was pretty cool and modern. The inferior decor was pretty cool and modern. There was a huge panda figure hanging on the ceiling which didn't seem very safe and seemingly would fall any minute. The sofa booster was extremely uncomfortable, overly soft and u felt sinking the minute you seat down. We changed to another table with wooden chair.
Omelet Rice (4/10) The tomato sauce was awfully sour, they should add more sugar to give a sweeter taste. The egg wrapper was quite smooth in texture and was made moist. There were cheese melted into the eggs and gave us a surprise with a lovely taste of cheese. One interesting thing is that Panda replaced typical Japanese rice with glutinous rice. However the rice absorbed too much sauce and expand into a big fat grand. Some even got stuck together. The minced pork (should be?) was not seasoned and had no taste at all. The presence of mushroom help balancing the overall sticky mouthfeel. Again, interesting but unflavourable.
Minced Beef Curry (6.5/10) Such a nice looking dish! The appealing look was the sole reason I chose the dish. We had our curry prepared at medium spiciness, as we didn't expect Japanese Curry would be seriously spicy - but it literally was! The curry sauce was thick, not creamy and did not taste like Japanese Curry which was typically sweet based. The minced beef had a special taste - just like the unique taste that lamb has which is of my liking. Okay to try!

Overall Panda Curry is not something I would love to try twice. The food was rather interesting as they have a twist in them, but somehow it didn't taste good. One thing that I hate about this restaurant is their water glasses - why do they have to be that small? I could chuck down that small glass of water in a go. I just reckon its a waste of effort to refill the glasses every five minutes, that's all.
