To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. Pang's Kitchen serves home-cooking Guangdong cuisine. Everything about the setting is very homey. It is a very small restaurant and the serving size is intended for a family to share. For optimal experience, I would recommend a party of 4 at least. The menu stretches over 3 pages and you will find something that suits your taste. I would say the choices are too vast and it gave us a lot of headache. Overall the food was pretty good. I recommend the stuffed chicken in particular. My least favourite thing amongst our orders were the fried beancurd. It was quite plain and the serving is huge. There is a limited amount of fried beancurd you can take before it becomes boring. Overall, an enjoyable experience and I would recommend the restaurant if you are in the area. But if you have to travel far, I think it is possible to find a restaurant with similar quality nearer to your home.
