we've been walking and walking under the hot sun around central and we've decided that we should find a place to chill out and have a nice bite or else we will probably have melted on the street.we were in Graham Street, and this restaurant popped up on my mind immediately then.the air conditioning was not strong, but we don't want to go outside and find another place, so we've settled down here then.it's a public holiday so there wasn't lunch sets available. since we aren't particularly hungry
we were in Graham Street, and this restaurant popped up on my mind immediately then.
the air conditioning was not strong, but we don't want to go outside and find another place, so we've settled down here then.
it's a public holiday so there wasn't lunch sets available. since we aren't particularly hungry as well, we just ordered a Country Brunch Skillet and a Green Waffle.
well, ordering a skillet was actually a wrong decision since we were basically burning already, but we've heard that this place's skillets are good so we had one anyway. there's a poached egg on top and i liked how the egg yolk get mixed together with the food in the skillet after breaking it. there were bacon, onion, green pepper, potato, and cheese. i liked the hint of cheese from it, it hasn't taken over the overall taste of the skillet but enough to feel satisfied by the taste of it. i wouldn't mind if there were a little bit more though. the food were pretty well seasoned, and the whole dish was aromatic. the green waffle was said to be one of its recommended food and it sounded quite special so we picked it instead of choosing other options such as buckwheat, wholewheat, gluten-free waffle, etc. the waffle is served with a scoop of ice cream and we picked vanilla ice cream, which i think would feel light and fresh.
if the green waffle was on the highly recommended list, i would be a bit disappointed then. this is because it just tasted like any ordinary waffles. it is said that the green waffle is made with some juice or something but i didn't taste that at all and seemed like an ordinary waffle with several drops of green coloring to me instead. the waffle itself tasted okay, but i don't see anything special about it for being the green waffle. the vanilla ice cream scoop did tasted fresh and light, it's pretty nice.
in overall it's quite a nice meal, and i might like to return to try their other skillets or other dishes perhaps, but for waffles, i don't think there's anything so special about them here.
