There's a foodie area happening in Argyle Center. Yes, Argyle Center. Once a place for buying inexpensive clothes and items popular among younger girls, they have now done something different by adding an area with small food shops geared for take away. It began with just one floor but now they now have another floor opened up!Boyfriend and I decided to check out this new floor and try out a few shops here. One shop was The Beef and Leaf. Boyfriend and I decided to check out this new floor and try out a few shops here.
One shop was The Beef and Leaf. A smallish shop with a small area for you to eat while standing, these people offer various burgers using mantou buns. A typical Chinese white steamed bun. Menu is in English and Chinese. One bun is about $38. They also have drinks available. For those (like me) who wanted to try two different flavors, they offer two mini buns for $42.
My two mini buns. The flavors I chose was double cheese beef bun and traditional sweet and sour beef bun.
Firstly, the bun was a bit hard. Perhaps it was due to them being mini sizes as I bumped into my uncle and he ordered a regular size one and he claimed the bun was soft and fluffy. Other than that, the beef patty was moist and juicy. The cheese was quite decent. But I liked the sweet and sour one more as it had a nice juicy pineapple in it.
