My girlfriend and I had an overjoyed lunch buffet at Jashan, a modern restaurant near SoHo that offers traditional Indian cuisine. The restaurant gave us a feel of a cozy, tranquil and spacious environment when we entered. The staff welcomed and led us to a table near the window. The tableware was delicately set.

Before we headed into the buffet zone, we were first served with the dosa and two special sauce. The staff depicted it as a salty pancake with potato and beans inside. The red sauce is a little bit spicy but it is a great combination with the dosa. Another sauce in white taste like coconut, it is special undoubtedly but we agreed that the dosa is best tasted without any sauce.

Everyone was also served with a welcoming drink and we ordered a lime soda and iced tea respectively. The sour and sweet favour of the drink whetted our appetite to kickstart the buffet!

The buffet zone is just around in the corner. The appetiser bar is on our left. Salad and snacks are well presented.

A friendly staff introduced the colourful sauce to us one by one. The white sauce is the salad dressing. It tastes like mayo mixed with yoghurt. The black, orange and green one is the BBQ sauce, mango sauce and mint chutney respectively. The sauce can be dipped with the snacks and they were amazingly matched!

The main dishes are on our right hand side. All cuisine were heated gently inside pots, including chickens, lambs, potatoes, soups and vegetables. My favourite dish is the butter chicken. The chicken is simmered in a rich cream, butter and mildly spiced tomato and curry sauce.

The sauce is best served with the Indian soft, chewy garlic naan (flatbread).

Saag Paneer is another dish I would like to recommend. It is a traditional Indian cuisine made from finely chopped spinach and paneer cheese, a non-melting milk cheese common in the Indian subcontinent.

Finally it came to the dessert time after few rounds. We were actually full already but still wanted to taste a bit. We were impressed by the Gulab Jamin in the dessert bar. The deep-fried dumplings soaking in a warm sugar syrup was not only sweet but also very smooth. It is also chewy in texture! This is definitely a dish could not be missed if you are a major sweet tooth!
