On a sunny Sunday, I came across this restaurant while strolling in Jordon. The shop looked very Japanese— with wood decor and lovely outdoor tables. Seeing their menu of soufflé pancakes outside their door, I decided to go in and give it a try to satisfy my pancake craving.

Upon entering the restaurant at noon, I discovered that there were no soufflé pancakes until tea time!! A bit disappointing but still acceptable. Perhaps it’s my own fault for not realising that earlier (I don’t even remember if it was written in the menu). But if that pancake menu isn’t available, to minimise disappointment, they should have just put away that menu instead of displaying it outside their door.

So we ordered waffles with teriyaki chicken and that’s when the nightmare started. We waited. And waited. And waited. And waited and waited for over half and hour and still nothing arrived. Three other tables were also complaining about the waiting time (there weren’t many tables in this restaurant to begin with). A nearby table of a boy and girl duo were so angry because one of them finished already but nothing came for the other even asking for 3 times.

And when the food finally arrived (nearly 40mins later) the waffles were cold and soft, not crispy at all. The chicken was so-so. The salad was just a plain salad with nothing special. Needless to say, I can probably make something similar in half the time at home and it is certainly not special enough to warrant 40 minutes of my life.

I certainly won’t be going back to this shop ever again or recommending it to anyone. But if anyone is planning to visit, here are some tips to minimise disappointment:
1. Make sure to ask if they have pancakes available before going in
2. Eat something before you go in, because the wait for anything edible is going to last ages

What a dreadful waste of my Sunday.
