Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much for the noodles part of rempah noodles. The instagram circus that had been kicked up over this place was pertaining to the kaya toast.

I had never heard of ‘dry laksa’, and every self respecting singaporean I’ve asked after concerning what this mysterious dish is reacting with horror. One even went as far as to say “sounds like depression”. I tried the dish nonetheless. and It was: depression. The condiments used to pepper my dry laksa was overpowering, I was eating bitter grass - coriander. My friend, who ordered the nonya laksa was perfectly happy with her soupy spicy broth. However, this was all remedied by the delicious and generous portion of kaya they served.
