Kishoku has been garnering buzz since its launch in 2013. I've always been wanting to try it and finally one lunch I got the chance- but next time I want to come back for the omakase sets- they're pricy, but considering the quality of the food- I can see why! They do come in at a more affordable $1200-$1500, as opposed to some other Japanese omakase places. The restaurant is beautiful. It's nothing short of calm and serene in the noisy and bustling CWB. I loved the zen like feel of the restaurant. The comfy private booth areas, to the standout omakase sushi bar area-you bet I'll be there next time. Kishoku's menu and food is from the former chef of Sushi Ta-ke!

Love the mini starter dishes they give you- on the right, is a mini side dish of one of the tastiest sweet shrimps around!

We all dug immediately into the delicious uni sushi rolls! I LOVEEEEEEE uni *sea urchin*. The texture was terrific-the uni was so creamy, soft, fresh, sweet, juicy and beautiful in its bold orange colour.

A seared succulent piece of plump scallop wrapped in a salted crispy seaweed. Absolutely awesome!

Sauteed Wagyu Beef & Onions w/ Sweet Soy Sauce on Steamed Rice $230. I ordered this and split with C! The wagyu beef was cooked quite nicely, but I definitely think the sushi, sashimi and other cooked foods were better tasting. Go for the raw foods!

This buttery soft Ox tongue w/ Avocado was a surprise hit for me! I loved the texture and flavour difference of the beef tongue and creamy avocado. And after perusing Kishoku's FB page- I also found out that "ox tongue offers health advantages by increasing your iron and zinc consumption (zinc boosts your immune system to help body fight infection while iron prevents anemia and helps cells to produce energy) and containing choline and vitamin B-12 to aid health of the nervous system". Blueberry Ice Cream to cleanse off our palette! It was bomb, to say the least. Okay-I'm just biased! I just REALLY liked all the food we ate! And I definitely will be back. Kishoku has definitely moved up on my 'Top Eats' list!
