Fancied something light after eating heavy the previous day, I decided to try out 九龍城寨墨魚丸專家鮮魚湯粉麵 for their signature cuttlefish balls. Even though the restaurant is named “Kowloon Walled City”, it’s located in Wan Chai. The menu is quite big. Other than the cuttlefish balls, there are some snacks that I want to try too, such as deep fried cuttlefish cakes and shrimp cakes. Maybe next time, as I don’t think I can down a bowl of noodles and a dish of fish cakes on my own.I ordered this Kowloon Wal

I ordered this Kowloon Walled City Set so that I can try out everything - cuttlefish ball king, cuttlefish head, fish ball, beef ball and seaweed. I opted for numbing spicy soup base, which costs HKD$3.
I tried the seaweed first, which was nice as it soaked up the spicy soup which made it even more enjoyable. The rice noodles, fish ball and beef ball were ordinary. The cuttlefish ball didn’t taste like cuttlefish, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, the noodles and toppings are fine, just not as good as it’s reported on food blogs and magazines.
