If you don't like lamb, don't bother. If you don't like cumin, don't bother either. This is pretty authentic Xinjiang style food, so there's lots of meat (lamb specifically) and very little vegetables.Must haves are the lamb skewers and roast lamb - reserve ahead when you call to book. If you don't book ahead, or forget to, you can also get the boiled/poached lamb, which comes with a soup (presumably the soup it was boiled/poached in). I didn't like the lamb dumplings as much as I wanted to - the spring onion inside was a little too pungent for me. The hand-pulled chicken was flavoursome too, also worth a try. The tempura-like fired lamb wasn't really my thing, but if you like light, crisp batters, you might like it.
They also have Tsingtao black beer (I'd never seen it anywhere else before - or perhaps I'm just ignorant) whose malty taste goes really well with all the cumin.
Go on a very empty stomach - you'll be eating till you suffer from food coma...
Book ahead on Fri/Sat, gets really busy.
