Latte okay but not quite that good

Finally gave this coffee shop a try. Maybe it has been quite highly regarded by others, so I had a pretty high expectation on their espresso based coffee. There were already a lot of foreigners in the coffee shop, which again gave me an impression that the coffee should be pretty good.Ordered a caffe latte and a whole wheat carrot cake. The latte tastes okay but too bitter. With my limited knowledge about espresso making, it should be either overly extracted or the beans being not fresh enough.

Ordered a caffe latte and a whole wheat carrot cake. The latte tastes okay but too bitter. With my limited knowledge about espresso making, it should be either overly extracted or the beans being not fresh enough. That said, the latte is still quite good, compared with most of those offered in town. My choice is still Cafe Corridor in CWB.
