I’ve always loved middle eastern food and hummus and have read about this restaurant for a while and finally decided to check it out on a wet rainy Sunday long weekend.We ordered the mixed hummus platter which comes with 2 x homemade pita breads. The flavors of the hummus tingled the taste buds and were a great way to wind ourselves into our middle eastern lunch. The platter was presented like abalone and flavors ranged from tahini & lemon, parsley & pickles, beetroot and black truffle. I reckon
We ordered the mixed hummus platter which comes with 2 x homemade pita breads. The flavors of the hummus tingled the taste buds and were a great way to wind ourselves into our middle eastern lunch. The platter was presented like abalone and flavors ranged from tahini & lemon, parsley & pickles, beetroot and black truffle. I reckon the 2 pita breads wasn’t enough and ordered 2 more just to finish the hummus. This was followed by 2 x hot appetizers, the Makanek which were homemade sausages and the chargrilled octopus leg. The sausages were made from a minced lamb with herbs and spices and tasty especially with the sauce they were served in. The chargrilled octopus leg was probably the best dish, it was tender, moist and delicate. Out main was a mixed grill of skewers from the charcoal grill which was massive. It had chicken and a range of different lamb marinated with different herbs and came with more flat breads and chargrilled vegetables. We ordered some mock tails which were far to sweet for our liking but complimented the chargrilled flavors. We were so greedy we ordered the dessert out of curiosity, a deep fried cheese ricotta spring roll served with vanilla ice cream and orange. The desert was interesting, but not to our liking.
Overall, the environment was clean and the decor was pleasant, the service was excellent, and the restaurant probably is one of the best middle eastern restaurants in Hong Kong. Give it a go!
