I have attempted to try this restaurant many times but without success.
They always seem to be fully booked and do not really open for lunch.
Anyway finally tried it one evening.

Raw Bar No.8 obviously specializes in oysters but as it is the summer I'd rather not risk it after falling sick from some semi cooked oysters recently.

Ordered three dishes: oyster chowder, Fish of the day with lychee sauce and salad.
I ordered the oyster chowder because it was different and it had oyster obviously.
When it came, I was shocked how big the portion was and enough for two.

Basically it was the usual chowder with an oyster plonked in the soup so the soup didn't have any oyster taste to it.
Since the oyster was the star of the show I was expecting a bit more and not just one oyster.

If they intend to put one oyster in that big bowl of soup, I felt that the portion of the soup should have been smaller because less is more.
Next was the fish with lychee sauce.

It was good that the sauce and fish were served separately.
The sauce didn't look like lychee sauce but it was and I believe there was butter in it because you could see a layer of oil.
Overall, I liked the creativity but I didn't dip much of the sauce as it was quite oily.
The salad we had was worth mentioning as it had fennel and orange which go well together.

Overall been here and tried that so might come back in the winter for oysters as I have a sensitive stomach.
