there's quite a long queue at just before 1pm. got seated around 1: 20pm and immediately ordered. Chicken Curry Laksa came in around 15 minutes. soup was spicy but not overpowering. Nice balance of spice, herbs and lime juice. Three pieces of chicken were just the same as those served as Hainan Chicken, nice and tender. Vermicelli mixed with egg noddles were chewy which goes well with crunchy bean sprouts elevated by the fragrant of fried red onion. It was also a pleasant surprise to find two pieces of aubergine (or eggplants) which absorbed the Laksa soup. Fish cake and Fried Tofu Skins were so so.
score 6.5/10 barley water. Not too sweet but on the watery side.
Hainan chicken
my friend had it and i stole a piece of chicken, a spoonful of rice as well as chickens soup from her. Chicken was at room temperature. Nicely tender. The chicken soup was hot and well flavoured. Rice was chewy and well soaked in chicken oil. I love the chilly sauce which was only a little spicy. the black sweet soy sauce was too salty for my liking. the ginger sauce was ok.
score 7/10
overall a very nice meal. only downside is the seating may be rather cramped depending on the table you get.
