A friend suddenly wanted to have lunch with me. Grappa immediately comes up to mind, because you always able to get a table at lunch time without reservation, despite all other restaurants are fully booked. As expected, we walked in, without reservation, and we were allocated to a 4-persons-table at the bar level, which was good to me because there were fewer tables, and less noisy then the main dinning area below.
We ordered 2 courses set lunch (appetizer and main course) at $145 each. They also provide 3 courses lunch, which include dessert as well. We both have caeser salad. My friend ordered chicken risotto. I ordered salmon steak.
The salad is of average quality, nothing special, and too little bacon. I have tried my friend's chicken, which was too dry. I have to swallow it with water. My salmon steak is pretty good, served with potato and asparagus.
The set lunch includes coffee and tea.
I think the waitresses are Filipino. There are not many people at the bar level, but with 3 to 4 waitresses. The service is therefore rather good, and they are rather attentive.
We end up paying $358, which include a bottle of still water ($35/bottle) and 10% service charge.
