We tried this Maxim Chinese restaurant for the first time for lunch in working day. We reserved a table near the window which had some view of the sea.

The menu was very thick but the choices for lunch was limited, especially for dim sum. There were only around 7 dim sum available in lunch in weekdays. However, the siu mai with shrimp on top was really delicious and the ingredients were clearly fresh and of high quality.

We also ordered the Cha Siu Pastry, which was in the shape of little pigs. They were really cute and the taste was great.

We ordered The Square Fried Rice but it was very ordinary, not worth the 158 we paid for it. We also had a plate of vegetables in fish soup with fish bladder and dried scallop. It was quite delicious but it tasted the same as Jade Garden, only differ in the fish bladder and the dried scallop.

Even during the peak hours in lunch time, there was a few empty tables in the restaurant, probably due to the limited choices. Overall, the food was good and the service was also thoughtful.
