I've been longing to try this new restaurant at PP as the placed looked amazing from the magazines. The restaurant is very spacious especially with it's high ceiling, together with an outdoor seating area. Surprisingly the restaurant was not full when we arrived for lunch (or maybe people just started lunch really early). We ordered a 4 course set lunch which was around $550 including a glass of sparkling wine:Tomato jelly, scallops, prawns, sprouts, salad, fruit and black saltVery light dish wi
Tomato jelly, scallops, prawns, sprouts, salad, fruit and black salt
Very light dish with very fresh ingredients.
Spagetti, boston lobster, cherry tomatoes, roasted pistachios
Very rich lobster flavour, as if a lobster bisque soup was reduced to make the spagetti sauce. Large chunks of lobster meat. Highly recommended!
Grain fed Australian beef tenderlion wrapped in 'guanciale' ham, red wine and garlic sauce, roast potatoes, 'taggiasche' olives, red bell peppers
A bit too salty (probably because of the 'guanciale' ham). The meat was tender but the dish is not amazing enough to follow from the last two dishes. I'd probably not order this again
Chocolate fondant with banana ice cream
Not the typical 心太軟 you get. Rich chocolate flavour which went well with the banana ice cream
Wine list - impressive selection of Italian wines. Not too pricey either although the waiters do not seem to know their wine list well.
The food they serve is not the typically dishes you find in the other Italian restaurants such as Nicholini's - the flavours appear to be more authentic i.e. an Italian cooking Italian food. The set lunch was really 抵. If you were to order the above from the a la carte menu, it'd probably cost more than $800. I think the main drawback about this restaurant is the level of service. The quality of service does not really match the prices on their menu. Much needed improvements required if they are to compete with the high-end fine dining restaurants.
