So why did I go? One word: 'Za. There's a now-defuct blog called "Best Pizza in Hong Kong" written by a woman who clearly loves her pizza. She rated the places she visited on a 1-10 scale, 10 being the best. Only one restaurant in all of HK got a 10 from her. Can you guess? Domani. That's a recommendation I don't take lightly.

So when I got this pizza craving I just couldn't shake, it was time to overcome the ick-factor and Tomorrow-it-up.

We ate at the bar, because you can't get pizza in the main dining room. I guess they can't suffer pizza-eaters rubbing elbows with the real people. I apologize for the quality of the pictures. Though I lack almost all class, I still can't bring myself to use the flash in places where the servers are wearing fancier clothes than any that I own.

We started with just a mixed greens salad. It was pretty straightforward. The dressing was light, which is good, and maybe a little sweet, which is less-than-optimal.

We ordered the Diavola pizza ($160): tomato sauce, buffalo mozzerella, chili, spicy salami. One pizza is definitely enough for two people.

Here's what the "Best Pizza in Hong Kong" blog said about the crust: "[T]he true beauty of this pizza is the crust. Perfectly crispy, deliciously thin but not too thin so as to get soggy...in a word...exquisite." It's four years since that sentence was written and I can say with surety that this place has gone downhill. Our crust was nowhere crispy. It was completely undercooked, soggy right up until the outer edges. It couldn't hold the toppings on and I had to eat it with a knife and fork (!), even though I'm from America, where people will pick fights with you for doing that.

Again, the photos not great, but hopefully you can see that I've had to reconstruct this slice by piling back on all the toppings that slid off the soggy crust when I served myself.

As for the toppings, they truly were great. The buffalo mozzerella was tangy and rich, in excellent portions. The tomato sauce was great. My wife uttered the sentence, "I think this is the best salami I've ever had." And there was nothing really wrong with the cooked portion of the crust, other than the fact that it was a minor percentage of the crust as a whole.

I believe that Tomorrow could make good pizza, if they tried. They've got all the ingredients, and at one point they even knew how to cook it. If they could just recover that knowledge, hey, it might really be the "Best Pizza in Hong Kong." But right now I would NOT recommend it to a friend if asked to recommend HK pizza. (I'd probably say 'Motorino,' btw). The end product here was still very good in parts, but crust is half the pizza, both literally and figuratively, and this just doesn't cut it.

The food was ok, a bit pretentious. Kit provided us a lovely dinning experience, very service orientated and he gave us all we needed for a lovely meal, in contrast Patrick and stran were very rude and laughed about our vegetarian request. We liked the blue cheese ice cream, the cucumber sorbet and the souffle. Overall, the experience was acceptable would come back for the desert only, as pizza was not as exaggerated by the restaurant manager Patrick have tasted better elsewhere. I didnt look at the price so I dont know, but quaility wise have taste better. Many thanks for reading, Jerome

P.S. Is quite bad when the pizza and pasta were not as good and the manager told us how wonderful it would be when he is Italian himself and know exactly what he is delivering and tell us stories about this little city in italy

在JW上過試酒會後,晚間在灣仔還有飯局,當中有段空檔,去那裡好?來個歡樂時光?友達E比提議到Domani,吃個薄餅,他說這裡的薄餅,質素甚佳。三年多前曾經到過Domani午餐,環境佳,食物水準亦不錯,但價錢亦不便宜,兩個人吃了七百多,只是叫午餐,而非散叫。拿著小吃的餐牌看看,薄餅是全天候供應,每塊的價錢只是百多元,於這個級數,一個主菜要三百多四百元起錶的意大利餐廳來說,是很便宜。E比推介Mickey B,以Buffalo Mozzarella,意大利肉腸,青瓜,辣椒,磨菇等材料為主。份量頗大,夠三個人分,薄餅底夠薄,很對辦,芝士味道濃香而不霸道,配料如香腸,磨菇等等也稱職。區區百多元三個人分,你說值不值?歡樂時光來喝酒,還有小食任吃,雖只是一些Finger food如火腿粒,Parmigiano芝士,還想怎樣?想吃得飽連晚飯也省回?抱著此想法未免太過貪心吧。

Mickey B's Pizza - $140
This has Buffalo mozzarella cheese, Italian sausage, Zucchini, Mushrooms, Chili and a shaving of Pecorino on top. In fact I have already written about this before in a previous review ROFL, but guess what, it seems to have dropped in price by $10 lately too! On the Hong Kong context, pretty decent stuff. Good to know they have kept up with the standards for the last 3 years too.

When I made a reseravation, the lady answered the phone told me she couldn't speak Chinese with a very unfriendly voice. I also asked her if there is any valet parking. As for the food, we ordered Pork Cheek and White Asparagus soup for appetizer. The meat was just sweet with very sweet apricot sauce like eating desert. The Asparagus soup is so so.

For the main courses, we order Pigeon and the baby lobster with taglialli. The Pigeon meat had very poor quality like eating an over-cooked chicken liver. In fact, you can't tell it is meat. It is something like a lump of hard stuff with not much taste. The baby lobster(the more expensive one than the lobster with $80), with very small portion is tender and fresh but no other floavor or special skills of cooking. The Taglialli(forget how to spell it) was very salty and dry, with no cheese powerder or olive oil or any sauce to go with it.

We have tried various restaurants in HK such as Tosca, The Spoon, Caprice, Sebatini, Nicolini, Crisini, Spasso, and many other well-known Western restaurants in the hotel or not in the hotel. We are food lovers, we don't really mind the money but just want good food. We also travel quite frequently and tried various Western food overseas. I think if you are on business lunch or dinner, it is no harm to try Domani as an alternative. However, if you pay for the food yourself, don't waste time and money. It totally doesn't worth the time and money to go there for the food itself.

又過了一會,那龍虾頭盤來了:一來便六份!第一個侍應說:「Chef 知道你地有6人,他把這頭盆平均分給你們,所以份量會較少。」答案也很合理。但跟隨而來,捧着其餘三碟頭盆的侍應卻說:「這份是chef送給你們的!」 (註:一份order 有三隻虾,當時有6隻)由於當日太多驚喜,也欣然接受。
打後也再沒有驚喜了,先評論我們要付的菜單。那份頭盤份量有如一節龍蝦肉,再加一舊炸得像打邊爐時用的迷你版山根!至於risotto? 上菜時我們六人異口同聲說:「麥皮?」的確味道比Cova的有着很大距離(然你的價錢這樣昂貴,我當然會跟價錢相若的餐廳比較!) 至於那兩份意粉,我只能用「咸」和「很粉」去形容。Prime striploin 也很咸,很勒;心裡暗暗慶幸沒有聽從侍應的意見(份量太少了,你們應要份$1300的!)
結賬時,要$36xx,好友Doris有對精明眼,看到我們要了兩份頭盆,便向侍應質問。侍應唯唯,說:「讓我再計多篇!」轉頭已變為$30xx。一份頭盆也只是$380,連加一也未致於有六百元差別。

結賬後,我們想要點開水,惜所有侍應巳像聾啞人士在你身旁擦過。這是一所高級餐廳提供的服務嗎?

Have been dining here for over 5 times for business lunch, finally got a chance to have a private dinner, my pre-birthday dinner.

It's public holiday of Full Moon Festival, exceptionally quiet night there. Only a few tables booked for the whole restaurant, and allowing my friend and I to enjoy a lovely dinner.

I really love the interiors, special and comfortable.

Booked a table at 7 and arrived 10 minutes earlier, they were still having the regular briefing and asked me to sit at the bar area first. Found out their happy hour price is quite friendly.

Luckily I didn't order a drink as the table was ready quickly and they offered us a welcome sparkling wine. We would like to have a bottle of White from New Zealand as it's my friend's favorite, but it's out of stock, too popular and another Italian wine was being introduced, Alteni di Brassica Sauvignon Blanc, not bad.


I selected the tomato jelly, prawns, scallops, salad as appetizer. Very refreshing dish with my favorite strawberries, mango and carrot slices; it looked pretty. My friend chose the Russian Salad, with carrot juice, sound healthy and he said it's quite good.

I like Risotto and picked Earl Grey Tea Risotto with Calamari and Lime, quite special, instead of the usual choices of seafood, mushroom, etc., the waiter said the earl grey tea is imported from Italy, the flavor and aroma made the risotto very nice.

For mains, I chose the Cod with beans and onions, and my friend had the steamed dova sole. I like cod fish and that was yummy! Mixed with the beans and mashed potato, very nice.

The pre-dessert is coconut with mango, plus dessert wine offered by them. We both chose the Domani Tiramisu for dessert, quite different from what we usually have in other places, creative and nice.

At the end, yes, time to have grappa, not a shot but they offered us 2 glasses...Wow..what a wonderful dinner and both of us felt very full. Happy!

Me loving the prosecco and starting off with some delicious bruscetta and cheese...My boyfriend loves their Gavi di Gavi!
After spending some time in the bar an aperitif, we moved in to the dining for some REAL action
Since I LOVE rib eye, of course I went for it! We ordered foie gras, duck pasta, grilled rib eye!
Not joking, but the food are amazing!!!! Those items are MUST TRIES!!

1. Foie gras- very tender! Superb combination with raw apple sticks, carrot juice and some amaretto! LIKE!
2. Duck pasta- the aldente texture with duck ragout! Loving the texture, loving the flavor! I don't know, I just have to have PASTA!!!
3. Rib eye- did I mention that it is DIVINE????????????? Oh yeah! It is! It's a big portion and satisfies a T-Rex like meeeeeeee


We absolutely fell in love with this restaurant!!!!

Then we had a tiramisu and a vanilla cheese soup for dessert!! And guess what?? Domani carries my all time favorite dessert wine-Moscato!!!!!!!! They have a very different tiramisu, but honestly I dig it! The meringue mixed with this sweet cream... texture wise it's so different but it's absolutely lovely! And the vanilla soup, i heard it's vanilla ice-cream with gorgonzola cheese(sound strgange but it's YUM!)... I didn't smell the gorgonzola at all...there was this grinned frozen celery. The server taught us how to eat this, to have the soup and the grinned frozen celery...and it's surprisingly good


We were soooooo happy with the dinner, it was truly a different experience!

Love the food, love the service!

Will go back for sure! I still want to try their pizza

the appetizer was something like a tomato jelly salad. (sorry for i didnt copy the exact name from menu)
it was quite nice and i enjoy the choice of combinations.

the main I chose lobster pasta and my husband chose duck. I like the lobster sauce very much. My husband said the duck was fine but not impressive enough.

dessert is something that i hope for most before coming, as I once saw the beautiful picture of very special dessert from magazine.
but actually it fail me the most in the whole dinner.

I have order a strawberry salad and I was shock by its appearance.

There is no presentation at all and the mix-berries sauce at bottom actually look awful. It was a great disappointment from what I saw in here (openrice) before.
My husband had a lemon tea jelly and I was surprise to see simple jelly as dessert in a fine dinner. It didn’t look good as well. Taste was not bad but I was looking for some different things like fruit foam or special combination.

Or, at least a good presentation of food is required for dessert, at least I think so.


the environment is super here. so beautiful and modern and romantic.
but the food was another story.
not actually bad but i do expect more from them.

I wonder do they change the menu or do they have a different chef?
i have asked people who came before and my experience is nothing like them.
