Heard many good things about this restaurant- so excited to try. Apparently chef is an LeiYuen alumni. 3 private rooms only; with ours being the biggest seating 12 maximum.Here’s what we had.椒鹽淮山- nice texture, paired well with the rosé.花枝招展- spicy so didn’t try.薑蔥白灼鮮豬蹄筋- not bad. Very tender and meaty.鹹蛋黃花蝦多士- quite a big piece. Prawn didn’t taste too fresh. Could be more egg-yolky.陳年花雕蒸花蟹伴陳村粉- wow! Here’s what we had.
椒鹽淮山- nice texture, paired well with the rosé.
花枝招展- spicy so didn’t try.
薑蔥白灼鮮豬蹄筋- not bad. Very tender and meaty.
鹹蛋黃花蝦多士- quite a big piece. Prawn didn’t taste too fresh. Could be more egg-yolky.
陳年花雕蒸花蟹伴陳村粉- wow! The best I have had in HK, the sauce was more fragrant and tastier than Chairman and Tasting Court.
海鮮湯脆米泡蒸海東星- another Wow dish. Broth was excellent and went very well with the rice crispies.
麻辣炒花膠筒+豆卜油條- the 油條 looked very appetizing but they warned me not to try any as it was spicy.
火腩炆大鳝- didn’t try, not a fan of eel. The others thought it was too salty.
欖角脆口金沙腩- perfectly cooked- very crispy exterior.
麻婆𧐢仔豆腐- another spicy dish, not for me.
龍仔梅菜蒸菜心苗
香煎糯米脆皮雞- quite disappointing. Much too oily, particularly so as we were all bursting by then. But nice that it was accompanied by innards.
Dessert : 安南子燉天山雪蓮
In summary: bill came up to approximately $1000 per head. A mixture of hits-and-misses. However, the crab alone was worthy of a return visit. Other attractions were the excellent service, free corkage and service fee.
