Literally, a breath of fresh air among many restaurants making “authentic” noodles that are all adjusted to local taste. This restaurant gives you what good authentic Shaanxi food is supposed to taste like - heavy, strong and complex flavors with a lot of garlic, onion, salt and vinegar, and all different kinds of noodles. My absolute favourite is Biang Biang noodles - they are good with spare ribs, pork/beef/mutton dumplings or just meat-free with some veggies. Tender, thin and well-made noodles
My absolute favourite is Biang Biang noodles - they are good with spare ribs, pork/beef/mutton dumplings or just meat-free with some veggies. Tender, thin and well-made noodles, and you can also choose the level of spiciness - I prefer BB spicy.
Cold noodles with sesame sauce (凉拌麻酱面) is utterly delicious! So creamy with a generous portion of sesame sauce, that every Northener cannot live without! Even my husband, who is not a fan of Shanxi food, loves it.
Love their snacks too - mixed chopped cucumbers (凉拌青瓜), so very fresh with some vinegar and spices, their meat pockets (肉夹馍), also noodle-like dishes 陕西凉皮、凉拌面筋 are my favourites, try them and you won’t regret.
When eating with a group of friends, 大盘鸡, chicken steamed with rich gravy and potato slices is a must-try! You can also add some Biang Biang noodles to it to make it even more delicious.
I love the staff in this branch, too - they are so very friendly and nice! Never gave me any bad attitude, and I am happy to keep coming to this store again and again!
