Not a huge fan of sushi, cos it's really hard to find good sushi places and have a nice meal without spending a fortune. I first started going to "authentic" sushi place to have Omakase when I was in uni, and all I thought at that time was it was really expensive. And I feel kind of pressured cos I know nothing about sushi at that time and the sushi chefs are really cool and have no smile on their faces as if you don't know how to eat the sushi properly and appreciate their sushi... However, Sushi Mori doesn't give you that kind of pressure. All their chef looks nice and there is a smile on their face and they will explain each piece of sushi when they serve it - a previliege for sitting at the sushi bar. (unlike some old school sushi place where you have to pretend you know a lot about sushi)
Won't go into each piece of sushi here (see pic below) but I ordered the 12 peice sushi set for $320 and I have nothing to complain about. Every piece tastes good and fresh. I really like the way that they brush a thin layer of soya sauce on each piece (except some types of course) before serving so there's no need for you to put on any extra sauce or wasabi before putting them in your mouth.
There's a salad and steamed egg before the sushi and a udon/soba and ice-cream/coffee after. Overall, pretty good value for money, especially for lunch. Will try to go back the dinner omakesa when there's chance (heard it's around 2k per person)
