with straight translation, the place is actually called downstairs hotpot (laahau) - and that’s exactly what you get, a hidden(ish) underground hotpot spot to dip, nom and sip! love a duo broth pot; did I even hotpot if I didn’t have my full share of mala spicy soup and the second was a more tame (but yummy) coconut chicken broth, and in all fairness it’s all about balance with a mission of not having to through hell later after the meal 🤭quite the spread of noms on our table with all of my usua

quite the spread of noms on our table with all of my usual staples; cuttlefish paste, beef, lotus roots, enoki mushrooms etc. & I mean look at their tray of condiments, heart eyes all around!
honestly quite surprised with the quality, was really good despite this being hella aesthetic and instagrammable but ofc I’m all up for it ✨ absolutely loved Chinese retro design that tries to recreate the hk street scene - there’s simply
no other place that can encapsulate big city hk vibes than this spot 👀
tip is book in advance otherwise you’ll have to wait for either the first / second seating to finish (so we started at 8:30pm onwards) to ensure for a good time ‘cause I’ll defo be coming back!
