Always feel excited when there is a new Malaysian restaurant opening in HK and definitely cannot miss out on this one. Heard some good reviews on ATAS so we've decided to come check it out. It is literally Atas on the first floor in the busy causeway bay area so location wise it is very easily accessible. Shop space is nice and there are some cosy seats as well.
A lot of familiar Malaysian/Singaporean food offering at this place. Since we are trying out so we decided to order the laksa and original Mee Hoon Kueh Dry, with the Michael Jackson (soya milk with grass jelly) special drink and Teh-Lo (milk tea and Milo combined). There are a lot of snacks too but we didn't order them this time.
The laksa taste was very authentic and might be a bit too spicy for the general HK taste but I'm absolutely loving it. Probably one of the closest to the authenticity that I've tasted in HK so far. The Mee Hoon Kueh Dry was really yummy too with quite generous ingredients and very filling. The drinks were very authentic too, especially the Teh-Lo.
Overall we are impressed with the food offering, quality and the taste authenticity which was really nice and hard to find in HK. Will definitely come back again when I'm craving for Malaysian food!
