We had a lovely day at the beach and were starving by dinner time. Lower Cheung Sha Wan had limited choices for dining and we opted for The Stoep.

Our order:
1/2 order of farm bread
1/2 order of mixed seeds bread
Tzatziki sauce
a large Greek salad
Mixed Braai (with a side salad and Braai potato salad)

The bread arrived first and it smelled as it has just been taken out of the oven. Also both the farm and mixed seeds bread were both warm, which was a nice surprise. We preferred the mixed seeds more as it has more bite to it, the farm bread just tasted as any other fluffy bread you can get at Chinese bakeries.

The mixed Braai was bit disappointing. Typically Braai at most African restaurants we tried, they will provide you a large plate of mixed BBQ meat, including Boerewors, Kebabs, Chicken, Pork, Lamb chops, Steak, different Sausages, and Spare-ribs... The Stoep was being very conservative on their Braai. The plate contained: 1 tiny sausage, 1 overcooked lamb chop, 1 piece of steak and 1 piece of chicken. The best meat was the chicken, it had a good BBQ flavour to it and it was quite juicy. Apart from that the Braai Potato salad was second best, but I think they used a bit too much Mayonnaise which made the potato salad too greasy.

Salads most of the time can't go wrong. The Greek salad was quite large and contained: lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, sliced onions, a couple of Kalamata Olives and crumbled low fat Feta on top. Nothing special, a hand picked salad at Great (Pacific Place) would have even contained more ingredients and tasted better.

Though I have to admit the atmosphere is nice, especially if you manage to have dinner there around sunset the view will be stunning. Just do not forget to bring mosquito repellent!
