I first came to Prohibition over a year ago when they first opened, when I had probably the best club sandwich in town. Sadly, this dish is no longer on the menu, and my most recent visit was much more disappointing. On this latest visit, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. I first came to Prohibition over a year ago when they first opened, when I had probably the best club sandwich in town. Sadly, this dish is no longer on the menu, and my most recent visit was much more disappointing. On this latest visit, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. As we all know, a Philly Cheesesteak is supposed to contain thin slices of actual beef. When mine was served, it was a total shocker - it was minced beef with cheese. I had one bite and had to return it - it tasted as bad as it looked. I told the staff that this is not a Philly Cheesesteak and asked if this is how they normally serve it. They said yes. To their credit, the staff are courteous and they apologized and took my dish back, and asked if I wanted something else. I ordered the wagyu cheeseburger but it was also unenjoyable (particularly the patty texture/taste). I eat a lot of burgers so I'd like to think I know what a good burger is.  But I was so hungry by this point I ate most of it anyway and afterwards really regretted just going somewhere else to eat.  After this poor experience I won't ever come back. By the way, on Prohibition's instagram, it says "this Philly Cheesesteak is a sliced sandwich stuffed with finely slices pieces of beefsteak and deliriously thick melted cheese in a long hoagie roll", but obviously it wasn't what they served.
