To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. The food by itself is okay but not too outstanding. Most of the staff members were responsive and polite but the overall dining experience was made poor by the atmosphere created by the manager.
The manager was so attentive to one of the tables with guests he might be familiar with. They chat and drank so loud to a point that I thought I’m in a cha chang teng or night market food stall. We could not have a proper and comfortable dining environment at all as I could barely hear what my friends were saying due to their extremely loud laughters and conversations.
One might think the manager would show a level of attentiveness and care to customers, who are paying and getting the same level of food. But no, he didn’t talk to customers in other tables at all to seek their comments or feedback, given he shows the talkative nature in his character.
The whole dining experience was compromised. We were expecting a cozy dining environment, which was obviously not the case here in Fumi.
Other staff members, however, provided good quality service and served food quick and could take orders in an efficient manner. Food by itself is okay but I would expect some quality of dining experience by this price.
