What's that you ask? Panda meat on a bun? No, no, no - not at this place, but please don't let that disappoint you. They have plenty of other delicious offerings to keep you distracted...Panda Burger happens to be on the route I walk between home and Olympic Station, and today I decided to pop in for lunch today when I passed by. Panda Burger happens to be on the route I walk between home and Olympic Station, and today I decided to pop in for lunch today when I passed by. The shop is quaint, with table and bar seating for perhaps 12, and it was at about half capacity when I arrived. (Those who are long-legged might find the tables to be a tad cramped, but I was comfortable in my corner spot.) Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by a friendly member of the staff who was ready to take my order immediately. I quickly scanned the menu, which was full of interesting items that I'll want to return to try, but I knew exactly what I had to have as soon as my eyes glanced across it: the rost pork belly burger (脆皮燒腩漢堡)...
But wait - this was a set meal! I also had their leafy green salad, which was sized just right for me, had vegetables that complimented the burger well, and included a tangy dressing (that seemed like a balsamic vinaigrette). I might liked to have seen a little more variety in the vegetable selection (only tomatoes and greens), but that's really a minor criticism. What else? The soup of the day: Pumpkin (南瓜湯). Oh yes. I love all things pumpkin and I was not disappointed by this. It was bursting with a rich pumpkin flavor, had a nice dash of cream, and was served in a cup (which made it very convenient to gulp down). Both are definitely recommended (but, sadly, not pictured - I didn't realize I would be inspired to write this review until after I finished them).
What are you waiting for?! Swing by Tai Kok Tsui right now to check this place out. I think I'm going to go back for dinner...
