This is my only review on Open Rice. I am writing to share my experience with this restaurant. I have been a frequent customer of Purple Tomato, always ordering their steak salad, very overpriced but I still do it for the convenience and good steak quality. I have been a frequent customer of Purple Tomato, always ordering their steak salad, very overpriced but I still do it for the convenience and good steak quality.
I’ve read the most recent comment on Openrice in respect of this restaurant but didn’t think it would be a problem as I never visited the place in person. Tonight I ordered as usual from online dining platform . Quick delivery. When I received it, the dressing was missing and no jalapeño I ordered which was a minor issue.
I called the restaurant three times without luck. Fine, I called online dining platform and explained to them no one eats salad without dressing. After communication, I was told that Purple Tomato would send dressing and jalapeños.
Wait for 45 mins and nothing. Called online dining platform again. After another 15 mins waiting, online dining platform then told me the following:
“The restaurant is not cooperative. They are not going to send the dressing and are only willing to refund the dressing. If you request the full refund, you must toss the salad to the garbage and send a photo as evidence.”
Well, seriously I was not trying to steal your salad.
So, that’s two hours wasted, and that’s how Purple Tomato loses its royal customer who has been willing to spend more than HKD200 each time for their salad.
