I've passed by the Mr. Bing many times in Central but never tried it. Not even when I saw it pumping music with a DJ on a Friday night. When I was in Wan Chai one day, I saw that it had opened another branch here so thought I should finally go and try it. Turned out the shop in Wan Chai is take-out only unlike the Central one which actually has seating. There were a variety of flavors from original to peking duck to nutella! There were a variety of flavors from original to peking duck to nutella! I decided to go for the peking duck as that reminded me of the peking duck pizza at CPK which was actually pretty good. It's always a gamble to take something familar and try it in another form, but can work deliciously well sometimes.

Peking Duck Bing ($39 S) - I opted for the small one which was still decent in size. It definitely didn't look very good at first with its soggy-looking wrap and brownish colors.

As I bit into it, the familar taste of sweet hoisin sauce hit me first, followed by the cucumbers and the crunchy crisp. Where is the duck? I think I had to take a few more bites before I finally tasted duck and even then the quantity was small. I actually liked the crisp and the overall flavors but the cucumbers were too thick. When you eat peking duck, the cucumber is supposed to compliment the dish, but not take over as the main star. I guess to save on margins here, they opted for more cucumbers and less duck. Even for $40, this was overpriced for what it is compared to the other food you can get in this area.
