On a lazy Sunday afternoon, most restaurants are closed in Quarry Bay. We tried Camper’s and the nearby vegetarian buffets. All are closed before 3. This place seems pricy but it has great air-con so therefore, we walked inside and gave it a go today. We were quite hungry this afternoon so we decided two order two sets and two more dishes to share. My boyfriend ordered the sashimi set. Great quality sashimi and fresh! But the steamed rice could have more vinegar to make it even better!
The white fish behind salmon was exceptionally good! Fat but nice!
I ordered eel rice and the taste was okay. It was a bit overwhelming though after having the whole meal by myself. I couldn’t finish the rice as well and the sauce wasn’t out of this world. But the quality of the eel was fresh and the taste was rich.
We ordered the maki roll. Originally wanting to try the salmon, eel roll but they have mistaken our order and gave us avocado eel roll instead. It was quite pricy actually as they only had 3 pieces.
But the taste was fine. However, I wish we had our correct order though....
It looks nice, doesn’t it? But the taste was bland, and the texture was just ordinary meatball. I would say the IKEA meatballs would even be more flavoursome than these. The raw egg yolk doesn’t make any difference - pure fat/ for photo. Not worth the calories/ money. Wont order it again. Period. Especially I was the one who finished five out of six meatballs here. I loathed this restaurant!!
But this! is a MUST TRY in this restaurant. It cost us $108 but it was probably one of the best desserts we could have ordered in a Japanese restaurant. They are mango and banana tempura with ice cream. Put the ice cream on top of the freshly fried tempura. The taste was palatable and lovely. Will come back solely for this dish!
This chilling lunch cost us $8xx. Not cheap but it’s okay to have this kind of luxurious lunch every now and then I guess.
The service was okay except for the wrong order but the green tea caused us $24! What?!
