I’ve been a regular patron at 阿一, most recently on Feb24 (Table 13), Feb17 (Table 39)and Jan18 (Table 20). I witnessed the restaurant right before and after the reopening of the border. I’ve been a regular patron at 阿一, most recently on Feb24 (Table 13), Feb17 (Table 39)and Jan18 (Table 20). I witnessed the restaurant right before and after the reopening of the border. Everything was fine before the border reopened. Food was good, service was attentive. But in last two visits after reopening of the border, it was the total opposite. In particular, yesterday’s visit was unacceptable. I went with 4 of my clients, order 2000 dollars worth of food. To my surprise, the food came very slowly, we had to chase repeatedly (and politely), the staff were annoyed - one of them even talked back and told us to be patient. And the worst of it, we order the crispy pork (燒腩仔), the restaurant either forgot or made a mistake, we had to chase repeatedly. And when it finally came after we finished all the food, it came out re-heated. Seriously, 翻叮燒腩仔 should not be the standard here. I told my clients how good the dish is, and it came reheated and soggy. Total disappointment. And I didn’t want to make a scene because I was with my clients. This restaurant was never like this. What happened ?
