Western HK Style Restaurant - Dai Pai Dong? Quite a mixed feeling overall, as I was totally stunned after finished the dinner. The restaurant set up is a kind of fusion type, mixing the old with the new style, but the old time favour can be found here with the starter, the soup and the bread... it's really nice. I love the red soup very very much, a little bit spicy, but truly the long lost favour, and with decent ingredient.
And with the new dishes, like the oyster seafood plate, really surprise me that they can offer such a good quality of seafood here.
The Surf and Turf, from the picture, you can feel the excellent of the kitchen, the slow grilled prime rib is so tender, and the fat is so nice... the steak taste is mild but not dry, quite juicy. And the lobster is just so ... not enough.. because it is quite fresh, and rich in the lobster taste, sweet too, so it's not enough for both of us to share, we want more... please.
The Sirloin is my choice, and I can only enjoy it myself, and can't share more of the lobster. But, it's still a very nice steak, especially I like the charcoal grill taste very much. Not really tender, but this is still juicy and rich in steak taste.
Dessert, was another bonus too, the peach sorbet is not something new, but I just take it as a fruit as well and finished half of the shell... not that much taste. While the cheese cake and the puff are not bad either, although they should not be part of the old memory, but it does have a good finishing at the end.
