Just to record my impulse buy - the Love Dad Bread! So cute that I cannot resist. Just like Don Q and their usual products - good looks, smells the way it should, tastes great. The bread dough is soft, and I am pretty sure they have used evaporated milk - from reading the ingredients of other prepackaged breads Don Q uses it as a basic ingredient of their breads (except baguettes and other European-style hard rolls which are supposed to be non-dairy). using it as a basic ingredient is a specialt

The bread dough is soft, and I am pretty sure they have used evaporated milk - from reading the ingredients of other prepackaged breads Don Q uses it as a basic ingredient of their breads (except baguettes and other European-style hard rolls which are supposed to be non-dairy). using it as a basic ingredient is a specialty, as not all bakeries do so. They perfect the bread base well - by using evaporated milk it boosts the aroma and gives it a smoother texture. A choice of 3 faces are given - 2 without glasses and mine with it.
Other than this promotional item, I really like their waffle ($12) with peanut butter and condensed milk. The waffle is not Belgian style - it doesn't have an eggy taste, I would say it is sweeter and milkier. When it's fresh off the waffle plate and piping hot the peanut butter and condensed milk melts together - the combination kills! I've tried it not fresh before, it's just as good - just reheat it in the microwave or oven - microwave if you want speed, oven if you'd like the waffle crisper.
There's something for everyone here - quality is quite consistent and more 'delicate' than many other bakeries.
