This is a legendary chain from New York.Seriously, in NYC people line around the block to get into this place--- in Hong Kong we get a table in a nearly empty restaurant. I gotta say, it's kinda sweet but I'm sad that people are missing out on this place. You can probably only appreciate this place if you have an international palate. You can probably only appreciate this place if you have an international palate. I'm sorry, but if your idea of food is macaroni soup with tomatoes and a hot dog, this food will go right over your head.
There are so many precious and ferocious flavors--- precious being their mushroom croquettes and their sauteed spinach, ferocious being their white anchovies soaked in gorgeous olive oil and their gambas (shrimp). You are going to want more bread to soak up the sauce from the shrimp, don't waste it!
Their wine and spirits direction is catered by this guy named Charlie who is a service savant. He can upsell you to the ground, but he will make you a delicious drink and give you great suggestions for wine.
My recommendation is that you GO HERE IMMEDIATELY before they get crowded.
