Renaissance waitress very insulting

Was having a drink with a friend who stays at Renaissance. Friend paid and left first. I left after I finished mine. A senior waitress who wears Renaissance name tag stopped me and asked another waitress to check if I have paid. A senior waitress who wears Renaissance name tag stopped me and asked another waitress to check if I have paid. I explained to her but she refused to believe me, forced me to stand in the middle of the restaurant and wait for the other waitress checking. It took them 5 minutes. I was just standing there under her watch as if I were a shoplifter. When the other waitress came and confirmed that the bill has been paid, the senior waitress simply walked away without any apology. I have never encountered such humiliation in the hospitality industry. Outrageous.
