It was New Year's Eve and it seemed everyone was out and about. Places were hard to book and we just wanted toget away from the crowds but yet go some where nice. The place isn't very big and the seating is more like a lounge. They even have a suit .. thus the name Suit in their restaurant name.

Menu is in English only. There is no Chinese except for the sake list which is quite extensive.

The sake list is extensive. You can order by the glass or a whole bottle. You can also choose  tasting portion. We decided to have a glass of Kurikomayama Kuranohana Junmai Ginjo ($108 a glass) because New Years Eve is not about celebrating without a little alcohol. Served warm, the sake was sharp and crisp.

We ordered a couple of starters. This is the Grilled Green and Bottega ($88). A variety of grilled vegetables like okra, endives, baby carrots, baby corn and haricot verts was mixed with a umami rich garlic ponzu.

They had a daily special that was not on the menu but on a blackboard that we tried out. This is the Beef Knuckle with Pickled Cauliflower and Lemon Pesto ($138). The meat was very soft and tender but had a slight grainy texture. Paired with the lemon pesto and pickled cauliflower, it added a bit of freshness and acidity to the dish.

The daily pasta was Tiger Prawn Linguine with Black Garlic ($178). This was an interesting combination as the black garlic was sweet, enhancing the flavor the the prawns without being too garlicky. The pasta was al dente.  Haricot verts were found throughout to give it crunch.

We loved the Half Yellow Chicken ($238). Marinaded in aged Koji, the meat was moist and juicy. The skin was crisp.  It was served with a side of salad. If there is one thing to order, this would be my choice. It was that delicious.

A very lovely quiet place with good food. Service was friendly and offered a lot of sake advice. We appreciated they didn't try to increase prices or push you to order over the top festive menu items like other places.  It was a nice place to ring in the new year.
