Too bad the waitress took away my roach mushroom soup before I had a chance to snap a photo because I was too shocked.

We left unable to continue our main courses. I just feel bad for the other tables, since many also had that 'soup of the day' from the same pot where the poor roach struggled to preserve its life.

Traumatized, for sure — my first ever experience having a 1.5cm long, black and white striped roach on my soup spoon, 8cm away from reaching my lip and being slurped into my tummy. Glad I don't need to comment on the texture of the food served to me this time.

What a pity we came so often and liked a lot of the items, such as the crab burger, and the grilled chicken, now Hop House, one of our most regularly visited lunch spots, will be another one forever banned.

Has there not been a disgusting hairy-legged roach, we can still tolerate the untrained staff for dropping a bottle of Tabasco on the floor that's meant to be brought to the next table, and adding splashes of red onto my colleague's white shoes and jeans without apologizing or the urge to bring back a cleaning napkin. We needed to grab the napkin from the counter ourselves.

Thought we are just unfortunate? Pest control aside, there's another time we excused the wait staff's unprofessionalism for explaining away 2 strands of hair found hidden at the bottom of the Caesar salad plate (main dish) affirming us the high standard of hygiene their kitchen had upheld, and saying it's the fan/ wind that blew a customer's hair from the closest occupied table (10 feet away) resulting in the 2 strands of hair landing precisely at the bottom of our dish. Oh well, enough said, just thought you deserve the truth.
