Bugis has a few locations throughout Hong Kong. Mostly located in shopping centers where it serves Malaysian/Singaporean food for the masses.Boyfriend and I met a friend here for lunch before we headed off for our first hike of the year. Boyfriend and I met a friend here for lunch before we headed off for our first hike of the year. It seemed fast and we weren't too familiar with the Tuen Mun area.
It was lunch and they had lunch sets. Menu is in English and Chinese and is in the form of a check off style menu. You pay at the cashier on your way out. Sets included a drink. I decided to order a Hainan chicken rice set ($68). I chose the Grosvener Momordica fruit drink (or basically sour plum drink) as my drink.
The rice was ok. Not too oily but it didn't have a lot of chicken taste to it. The chicken was moist but it seemed to have congealed a bit.
The soup was a chicken broth with carrot and squash. This tasted ok though a bit oily.
Overall, the food was ok. It wasn't great but I guess it fit the purpose of eating something before heading off. It tasted like something I would get from a food court so paying 10% service charge for this felt a bit of rip off. My friend had a Union Pay credit card so we received a discount of 5% off if you spend over $200. So, perhaps cash in on that to save a bit of money.
