With a friend from Malaysia went to the Toast Box on Thursday night to check out their food, to see how authentic they can be....We ordered 2 set meals plus an order of the Kaya Toast and Laksa Curry Chicken with Toast set - the curry sauce was quite tasty though not as spicy as I have expected but I could only found 4 small pieces o chix wing which were slightly over cooked cos I guess you can finish them even without one tooth.. the texture of the curry sauce is different from those

Curry Chicken with Toast set - the curry sauce was quite tasty though not as spicy as I have expected but I could only found 4 small pieces o chix wing which were slightly over cooked cos I guess you can finish them even without one tooth.. the texture of the curry sauce is different from those HK style thick milky sauce which is quite good though. with an Ice-Milo wish is a popular drink with in SE Asia
Nasi Lemak set , steam rice with coconut flavour , fired chicken wings, small dried anchovies with the sambal sauce my malaysian friend like this one very much , with a traditional Kopi (coffee)
Laksa, quite a Singapore version, full flavour of coconut milk, with thick vermicelli, slices of fish cake, "pathetic" slices of prawns and bean sprouts only hope they can be a bit generous on the prawns
Kaya toast, since it's not ordered as a set and there was no soft Broiled eggs to accompany with it, therefore it's a kind of the disappointment of the evening....
originally it can go with the eggs with white pepper and soy sauce and dip the toast into it and eat... which is very yummy... the taste of the kaya spread was quite weak too.
Though the food is not superb, it 's still a nice alternatives to our usual tea set at the Char Chan Ting
