I noticed that they had a small models of the Nativity scene on some of the tables. Interesting choice of decor.

Menu was designed to look like a newspaper. This seems  to be a common trend in so many new restaurants and cafes lately. I have no idea why this is and quite frankly, getting a bit boring. Anyways, menu is in English and Chinese with photos.

La Postre Fresh Fruit Espuccine ($52). This was really pretty good. Nice and icy cold. Packed with fruit juices. Topped with orange and apple. This was a sweet and tart slushie-like drink. Great for those hot summers in Hong Kong.

Gazpacho Salad ($118).  This was served in a pretty martini like glass. The mixture of tomatoes, corn, red onion, red lettuce were fresh and crisp. Though I think there was a bit too much red onion. It was also sprinkled with pickled jalapeno peppers. So beware of biting into one of those if you can't take the heat. Two crunchy breadsticks were stuck which I think was more for design than giving anything extra to the dish.

Beef Nachos ($98). Nachos served at a Spanish restaurant is a clear sign this is not authentic Spanish. Anyways .... I'm a picky nachos eater and these were not even real nachos. First off ... flavored Dorritos were served instead of flavorless tortilla chips. It's a good thing I love Dorritos but yeah ... if you are a serious nachos lover ... this is not for you. It was served with a meat sauce that was very tasty so the only sole reason I would give this an ok as the meat sauce was good. And yes ... not enough cheese but this is not the fault of the resturant but the fact that cheese is too expensive in Hong Kong so many places skimp on the cheese.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Jaman ($98). The pasta was delicious and reminded me of how Japanese serve pasta more than actual Italians do. I'm not sure how to describe it but it perhaps it was a bit more on the sweet side than salty? I always find Japanese pastas more like that. The pasta was al dente. There was a few slices of Iberico ham and slices of pickled jalapeno for the spicy kick.

Blue Mussels with Garlic in White Wine Sauce ($168). Serving size was pretty decent for this price. The white wine sauce was fragrant and sweetened by the mussels. It still had a strong wine taste as well. I couldn't get enough of it.

It was served with pieces of toasted garlic focaccia that were located in a super cute mini trash can. I loved the trash can idea for plating. The bread was great. I also couldn't get enough of it. Dipping it in the sauce made this one of the best dishes of the night..

Paella de Mariscos serving for two ($268). They had a four serving and a two serving but we decided on the two serving as most of us were girls and we wanted to save room for dessert. The paella was not a very traditional paella as they included sakura shrimp mixed with the rice. It included huge prawns, mussels and clams that were not over cooked. The tomato flavor was intense and was rather spicy as well.

Mixed Fruit Mochi Waffle ($128). This was topped with a vanilla ice cream and a mixture of fruit including figs, kiwi, strawberries and blueberries. The waffle was mixed with mochi to give it a chewy consistency. It didn't get hard as it cooled down like some places that do mochi waffles and maintained it's crispness.

Earl Grey Pear ($59). This was the most mindblowing dessert I have had in a long time. I love pear desserts and this was fascinating to me. The mixture of fragrant Earl Grey and sweet honey like taste of the rum was a gloriously lush dessert. The pear was not over braisesd. Taste was intense yet not over powering. Simple yet perfect in every way.

Fig Tart ($59).  I love figs as it's super sweet that is only intensified in desserts or with a serving of soft cheese. No wonder Adam and Eve ate this called it the "forbidden fruit". The tart was simple. A puff pastry crust and figs sliced on top served with a scoop of ice cream. Simple yet sweet. There was also a small cup of crushed hazelnuts for texture.

Lady Earl Grey Creme Brulee ($59). The creme brulee was ok. I wasn't particulary fond of it. The taste of Earl Grey was strong but the creme brulee wasn't smooth enough. The sugar topping didn't crunch when tapped.

Service was friendly. Food is ok though the desserts and drinks outshined everything. I was informed that lunches were decently priced and I may return to try lunch some time if in the area. I think it's an inexpensive place to have a small dinner with friends or at least come for dessert. Interesting the name is called "La Postre" which means "dessert" in Spanish. Very fitting, I think.
