Restaurants that sit between cafe and restaurant have gained traction in Hong Kong with more and more competitors out there, big and small. Classified used to be a nice, cozy corner for all-day breakfasts and light meals on a relaxing day (other than the Central branches) with a good range of smoothies and other beverages to choose from. But over the past few years its restaurants seem to have fallen a little behind the market as far as standard of service and quality/ range of food on offer is concerned. After a couple visits this year to Classified in Repulse Bay, Happy Valley and Central, all I could say is that it remains a reasonably priced restaurant with decent food, but there are better options out there.

Rib-Eye Steak with Potato Mash $220
The rib-eye was very average, and at roughly the same price we could have had better just a few steps away from Classified. Portion was just right.

Smoked Salmon Salad $45
For $45, this was a huge bargain and a great option for someone who’s really not hungry. Quality was OK.
