What a better way to window shop than to go shopping inside a mall in hot summer. I went to the Telford Plaza at Kowloon Bay, and found a new restaurant - Shirokuma Café there. What a better way to window shop than to go shopping inside a mall in hot summer. I went to the Telford Plaza at Kowloon Bay, and found a new restaurant - Shirokuma Café there. I passed by this café in Sheung Wan a few times and thought that their Polar Bear logo is kind of cute, so decded to give it a try.

Although I was not hungry at that moment (it was around 6:00 p.m.), my friend and I decided to have an early dinner as there was no queue yet. We order a Ramen Salad with Japanese Seasame Dressing and Shirokuma Pork Burger Curry with rice.

The Ramen Salad was really really ridiculously small, and taste okay. Should of just charged an extra $10 and made it at least a reasonable looking portion.

The Shirokuma Pork Burger Curry with rice smelled good and looked interesting. However, when we tasted the curry, it was really mild, to the point that it tasted like a brown sauce. For the pork burger, we really could not tell if it was pork or beef. Of course, we understand we could not judge the meat because it was minced, so we could not judge it based on texture. However, the taste of the burger was strange, I guess it might of been marinated for too long, so it had no meat flavor at all. We were quite disappointed as this was supposed to be one of their signature dishes.

After the meal, I ordered a Hazelnut Curry Coffee, but again I was disappointed. I didn't taste any curry flavor until the last zip of it.  Finally, the service was kind of spotty, one server was nice, another just threw your dish down and left, and the Manager was not the brightest of the bunch.
