Waffles have become rather topical lately, so taking heed of the flock, I'd decided to give this waffle joint a try. This diner is not easy to spot on Graham Street especially when there is another waffle place just 1 door away from it with more prominent signage and displays.First impression was this place is crammed…and may be a bit worn out here and there. It’s not a place where you can sit for longer than what it takes to finish your meal because a) its not comfy, and b) it’s quite stressful

First impression was this place is crammed…and may be a bit worn out here and there. It’s not a place where you can sit for longer than what it takes to finish your meal because a) its not comfy, and b) it’s quite stressful to have a line of people just a few steps away staring at you while you eat. We ordered a Fried Chicken Waffle, a Banana Fosters Waffle (ie waffle with caramelised banana + choice of Apollo ice cream), an OJ and a cappuccino.
Fried chicken waffle came with 2 drumsticks and a huge helping of fried potato cubes. Chicken cooked just right with juicy meat wrapped in a crispy shell, but was too oily. I like lots of syrup to go with my fried chicken waffle, and was pleasantly surprised at their generosity in giving you a whole bottle of syrup to squeeze from, though the syrup is only inexpensive corn syrup. The Banana Fosters was tasty. The banana was grilled and caramelised just fine, and perfect to go with my choice of coconut ice cream. Other than being a little grumpy about the small table which made the server(s) and us struggle half the time trying to ensure nothing fall off it, everything was well and good including servicing until the cappuccino came. I was at first quite impressed with the soya milk option they offered. However, the “cappuccino” was really nothing but an Americano heaped with a thick cloud of foam, and you can actually see that they didn't make it properly, the foam was certainly spooned atop - disastrous! I am picky about my coffees, and a bad cup of coffee could really ruin a meal like this one did.
