The restaurant's address is on Gough Street but it's actually easier to go via 九如芳 . It is at the end of the street, just around the corner before you arrived Gough Street. The restaurant does have some outdoor area for you to have a few drinks with your friend. I found it a great place during this weather because it's not too cold nor too hot. The interior is pretty spacious and each table is equipped with a Japanese style BBQ stove for you to prepare the beautiful meat by yourself. On the men
Seasonable salad $85
The salad has been dressed with a savoury soya dressing, with some white baits on top. The veggie is super crunchy with a fresh green taste. I absolutely love having salad to start a meal with because it's healthy and full of micro-nutrient. Each leave of the salad is crunchy and sharp, giving a enjoyable freshness to your tastebud. Assorted vegetables $80
3 types of assorted veggie are on the plate to start with. Everything is marinated just like how the Japanese do. Marinated cucumber is fresh, still crunchy, with a slight savoury taste. Lotus roots has an earthy taste and it is also very crunchy. Mashed sweet potatoes is my favourite because it is dense, super sweet, smooth, and the serving size is just right because you don't want to stuff yourself with too much mash before the meat dishes. Sausage, Chicken recommendation, pork slices
An almost count selection of meat can be chosen from the menu, and we were served with different kind of sauce that goes with it. By the look of its colour, you can tell that they are all very fresh. I started with the pork slices which is just right with the fattiness. It is very very thinly sliced so you can taste the original pork taste.
Then chicken is not marinated but it is still very soft and tender. You may want to enjoy it with some sauce. Chunk eye, flank steak, tip steak
Then we were brought with a selection of beef. Once again, by the look of the colour, you can tell they are super fresh and the cut is very delicate. We were introduced by different part of the cow, while each different cut has a different texture, taste, and sometimes they are even marinated.
For me, I love the chuck eye the most because it's the fattiest cut of meat. It's great to enjoy on its own. While the flank steak is also super succulent. Every piece is unique, so you just need to find out what cut is your favourite. The meat literally takes a few seconds to be cooked. And it is recommended to cut the meat after it is cooked rather than before. So do share the love with your friends. Seaweed soup $50
After some meat, there is nothing better than a hot bowl of soup to wash down the fat. It is light, warm, with slices of sexy seaweed swimming in it. Sirloin sukiyaki $290
Then it goes to the highlight of the day. The sirloin sukiyaki is served with some light soya sauce, egg yolk, and some rice. You are suppose to cook the meat, then dip that into the sauce, mix in the egg in to the rice, then finally enoy everything all together! There is a light on the stove for you to check that if the meat is already cooked. You can see how beautiful this elegant piece of meat is . The pearl rice is just perfectly cooked with the right stickiness. The egg literally just bind everything together. I don't want to exaggerate but this is a "mouthgasm" for me. Chicken meatball umani
Didn't have a chance to try this dish because we had to share between 3 ppl. It looked pretty good to me because the whole pot is going to be cooked on the stove. Minced wagyu burger $130
A whole piece of round burger with minced potato, and an egg yolk. You are supposed to mix everything together for better enjoyment. However, I didn't have a chance to try it because I was pretty full by now.
