The first time I walked by King's Noodles, I noticed a big photo of a meat pie. We asked if it was available and they said it was sold out. So we decided to try another day. And that day was today! Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. They are a regular noodle shop serving various items along with dumplngs. If you order a noodle, you can choose the width.
But of course, I was interested in the meat pie. They have four stuffings to choose form. We chose a beef and onion ($33). When it arrived, I expected it to be like an actual hand held pie but instead it appeared to be two pieces of puff pastry with the filling sandwiched within. A bit like a sandwich. They also nicely sliced it in half so we could share easily.
It was pretty good. The crust was super flakey and crisp. The beef tasted more like beef shank. The onions were still raw. I quite liked it.
We also shared 10 dumplings. These were chives ($48) dumplings. The skin was a bit thick and the fillkngs were lack luster. Chives were fine but could do a touch more seasoning.
The meat pie I did like and would probably be back as a to go item. Would probably skip the dumplings as there are better places for that.
