To celebrate my birthday, my bff brought me to Uptop Bistro and Bar for afternoon tea.It is located on the 19th floor of Popway Hotel, quite far away from MTR station.The restaurant is quite small, with only a few tables. The restaurant is quite small, with only a few tables. It’s on the 19th floor so we can see a little part of Victoria Harbour, blocked by high rise buildings around.
We ordered the summer rose themed afternoon tea set ( $428 for two using openrice discount). When it arrived, it was quite disappointing that the afternoon set did not look as good as the one stated in the picture as you can see that the strawberry roses with puff did not stand on its own. It makes the whole afternoon set less attractive and looks messy.
As to the taste, it was not too good or bad. The scone was the worst as it was a bit soaked.
The recommended rose lychee soda looks pretty but it tastes like 7up. A bit disappointing.
Although it is not very expensive in terms of hotel afternoon tea, I’m sure there are better alternatives in Tsim Sha Tsui. So I don’t recommend it.
