Have been coming here regularly for years.  It is rare to find a family owned traditional congee place in Central these days.  Both the menu and the food quality have always been very consistent (the prices have been increasing along with inflation, which is understandable).

The plain rice noodle rolls (Cheong Fun) [$10] are freshly handmade in the premise.  It is a plain and simple dish that can be addictive.  The rice rolls taste fine by themselves in the dark soy sauce, and even better if you sprinkle some seasame seeds on top.  I like adding a tiny bit of sweet sauce and/or seasame sauce too, but never need too much.

For congee, you can choose from a variety of ingredients.  They range from $7 for a plain congee to $17 with a choice of two toppings.  If you have a bit more time I would recommend the "made to order" congee ($25) which they cook individually rather than just mixing the congee with the chosen toppings.  The serving size is also slighly larger.

This particular day I had the fish belly congee.  The congee was very smooth, with a little sweetness from the fish.  The fish belly was very tender and fresh.

Other Info. : Warning for first timers - the place is always crowded at peak hours and you need to find your own seat. Don't expect to sit very comfortably as tables are small and only stools are provided. Takeaway may be a good option if you don't like the environment.
