after i went to the temple, i decided to stop by for vegetarian food and went into this shop at 1pm. it was just full after i took up a small table. as i was longing to eat black fungus (muk yee) for the past weeks, i ordered steamed fungus with chicken .. i was looking forward to a plain dish with hopefully not too much oil. having waited over 20 minutes, the dish arrived wrapped in lotus leaf .. the content was scary huge pieces of chinese mushroom (dung koo), fungus & vegetarian chicken was covered in a reddish-orange sauce!! the taste was a bit sour & a bit sweet .. nothing near the plain taste i was expecting. NO WONDER it's so difficult to convince people to turn vegetarian in hk. if i had to eat this kind of veggie day in day out, i wud quit TOO! fortunately, i can cook & hv learnt how to select the best ingredients fr my clever mum .. i can enjoy fresh & tasty vegetarian food EVERYDAY.
the service is no better in this shop, i ate 2 bites & found the dish unbearable, asked for the bill which was over HKD70, the manager did not even both to ask if there was anything wrogn with the dish. he just gladly took my money!! if every hk restaurant is like this, god help hk!!!
