The girls didn't want to go out for dinner which made it a good opportunity to go for a vegetarian meal as our younger daughter doesn't like vegetarian meals.

We have been to this restaurant a few times and every time we have had a good meal and wondered at how many different dishes they can make out of vegetarian ingredients.

There were too many dishes to choose from so we decided to pick a set menu for 2. For that we had 2 bowls of pumpkin shark's fins soup, 2 dishes to choose from a selection and dessert.

I have to say the pumpkin soup was not bad, vegetarian soups are hard to taste good and this was already a good attempt. Vegetarian shark's fins has a good texture, something to bite into and it is environmentally friendly

We choose a Lions head and mixed vegetables cassrole and the dish not only looked really nice but it is hard to imagine a ball made from soya to taste so interesting and varied. I could taste some water chestnuts but the rest I guess is mainly soya. There were lots of different types of vegetables and rice vermicelli in the pot also.

The other dish was a deep fried bean curd and oyster. No need to explain how deep fried bean curd can be delicious but it's the oysters I cannot figure out. They actually did taste of oysters and I have attached a photo of a cut version. The dish was covered in chopped garlic and I have to say once again delicious.

Dessert was millet and barley sweet soup. I was too full to finish my bowl but it looked really healthy and was not too sweet.

As there were only 2 of us, we didn't order some of our regular favourites like satay sticks, deep fried taro or fried noodles. Have to leave some dishes for next time. The only thing we do not like about this restaurant is that it is really noisy and that could be due to the low ceiling and large tables with big groups of diners.
