Went here for a early Christmas gathering with colleagues and here were the dishes we had.
Steamed rice flan with minced pork and deep fried garlic:
This is similar to Chinese radish pudding but without the radish and meat, it is like steamed flour topped with minced pork and delicate Sakura shrimps which are more aromatic than the traditional dried shrimps.
There was some scallion oil too which gave it that extra dimension,
Madam Saigon deep fried spring rolls:
Looking like your usual spring rolls, they were filled with duck, cabbage and glass noodles instead of the conventional pork.
Duck tastes better than pork anyway.
Vietnamese crepe:
The Vietnamese crepe will satisfy your pork cravings as it is filled with pork belly and lots of herbs.
Tiger prawns lotus root salad:
Lotus root salad is always found in Vietnamese cuisine but this is the best lotus root salad I have had because the lotus roots tasted fresh and tart.
The ones I have tried before taste like pickled lotus roots from the jar.
Shrimp with Mixed fresh fruit rice paper roll:
This is a rice paper roll I will remember as it was made with fruit which look good and taste good.
Vietnamese suckling pig:
Visually similar to the Chinese suckling pig, it has been marinated with onion, celery and lemongrass!
Tom yum koong soup with prawn:
The soup was quite spicy!!
Grilled chicken with green peppercorn:
seafood vermicelli tomato crab soup:
I really enjoyed this as the crab soup was rich and concentrated.
Vietnamese filter coffee:
Finished with the coffee which is brewed with Moses Chan coffee Beans!!!
Overall, I really liked Madam Saigon as the dishes had a modern touch with the use of different ingredients which improve the taste.
